The design of the premium oriental cuisine, with a western twist, was conceived as a blend between different cultures. The architectural branding focused on the development of a holitsic design concept, which included interior design, lighting design, corporate identity and packaging, visual and web design. The challenge here was to adequately embody the brand values ​​and brand identity in a  relatively small space.

Analogous to the kitchen, the interior design speaks a language of multiplicity. The design combines different elements of oriental-historical and western-contemporary building and manufacturing styles to create a new spatial experience with vital design references to Viennese modern design culture. The golden ventilation is a central design element that aims to address the technical infrastructure as a necessity for gastronomy and for cultural production in gerneral. It is pointing to a reciprocal presupposition between cultural production and  technology.

Inspired by saxophone construction, a special brass ventilation system with engraved ornaments and visible mechanics was designed here. With jazz music in the background, the synthesizing dimension of jazz as a cross-cultural musical style is celebrated and becomes part of the spatial experience. The design and conception of the Sandwich Bar thus represents an interface between different cultures. Food culture meets design culture meets music culture. Orient meets Occident.
